How To Give: Tax Credits
You can take advantage of tax credit programs that enable you to give more, receive something in return and possibly multiply your gift in the process.

When you give a minimum gift of $500 by check or credit card to an eligible United Way agency or project, you will receive either a 25% or 50% tax credit from the state.  (For complete details and a listing of eligible agencies, see the chart below.)

Two Tax Credit Options
Denver Enterprise Zone
Supports the Adult Self Sufficiency Initiative

You will be eligible for a 25% tax credit when you file your state income tax return. For a minimum gift of $500 you would receive a $125 tax credit from the state. This helps homeless and low-income families participate in job training and placement, and provides matched savings to working families to help them purchase a first home, pay for higher education or capitalize a business through Savings Plus Individual Development Accounts. (Donors may give gifts of stock to the DEZ, but the tax credit may vary.)

Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit (CCCC)
Supports School Readiness and Youth Success Initiatives

Increase the quality and availability of child care. You will be eligible for a 50% tax credit when you file your state income tax return. Your minimum gift of $500 may net you a $250 tax credit from the state.  CCCC supports the School Readiness Initiative by providing quality, early childhood education and after-school opportunities for metro Denver’s children and youth.

Grow your CCCC gift even further

Direct your gift to Mile High United Way’s Child Care Fund, Lights On After School program or School Readiness Initiative and you will be eligible to receive a 50% tax credit. Your gift may also be matched with Federal Matching Funds through the Child Care and Development Fund which will bring added dollars into Colorado. Your minimum gift of $500 means a $250 tax credit for you and $1,000 worth of quality child care in metro Denver and the state.
