| What We Do: Youth Success |
Believe that every student deserves the support to succeed in the classroom.
The heart of Mile High United Way’s Youth Success Initiative is just that. We provide students with the support they need to succeed in the classroom, graduate from high school and move on to higher educational opportunities.
Half of all ninth graders in Denver and a quarter of them in the metro area are dropping out of high school. Without a high school diploma, it is increasingly difficult for an individual to pursue a career that pays enough to meet their basic needs without public assistance.
Mile High United Way’s Youth Success Initiative is succeeding in keeping more kids on track to graduate from high school and take the next step into college or other post-secondary opportunities.
Making A Difference
We combine our community’s strengths – working with local governments and leading businesses to local school districts, foundations and nonprofit organizations – to create lasting solutions that empower every student in the metropolitan area to graduate from high school and reach their full potential.
We invest in programs that make kids want to stay in school, graduate.
