I’ve heard that your past makes who you are and where you’re at is who you are going to be. The problem with that is it sounds as if we don’t get the opportunity to change. Life is never easy. When we are down it’s hard to get back up and we don’t always have the support we need. At the same time it’s all about the choices we make as individuals.

Rachel's Bridging the Gap Success Story

A single mom at age 20, Rachel prides herself in being a great mom to her two kids. But like any young mom, she needs support. Rachel aged out of the foster care system at age 18 with no family, diploma or system of support. She had heard about Mile High United Way from a friend who had taken advantage of some of our services, so she decided to come find out more.

Get a Break This Tax Season with Free Tax Help

Families in Colorado who earned less than $54,000 in 2017 could be eligible to receive up to $6,300 or more in tax refunds through the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and other tax benefits. In addition, these families can save money by filing their taxes for free at one of Tax Help Colorado’s free tax sites. Individuals can also contact Mile High United Way's 2-1-1 Help Center to find the free tax filing site nearest them.

Center for Family Opportunity Brings Critical Services to Communities in Need

Mile High United Way believes that all families and individuals should have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to become financially stable. Together with Denver Public Schools’ Family and Youth Engagement department and the Mountain Resource Center, families now have easy access to a bundle of resources to help them succeed.
